Resilient Landscapes and Seas: Search Tool
The Resilient Landscapes and Seascapes (RLAS) Partnership, a partnership of 19 leading conservation organisations, has identified the need to create this new online search tool to help us all build a more cohesive landscape and seas community to deliver benefits for nature, people and climate. This resource is now public on this site and is in addition to a programme of RLAS events that are building networks and personal contacts. This tool allows you to both explore and free-text search for landscape projects across the UK, and enter details yourself for current or new projects. We acknowledge the funding of the tool design and development by RLAS partner Natural England.
The focus of this search tool site is for projects which are:
- More than 500 hectares in scale
- Delivering actions to improve outcomes for people, nature and climate. Note: The search tool is not intended for projects which are limited to creating carbon credits only.
- The search tool is not intended to identify protected and designated sites in themselves but we welcome projects within these areas where focussed action is being taken within an area 500 hectares or more to increase landscape and sea resilience.
Several projects have already been added to the tool by RLAS partners, but we now wish to welcome the additional of projects from anyone that meet the above main criteria. The submission form should take about 30 minutes to complete and can be edited by the landscape project owner (only) at any time. We welcome feedback on the design and ease-of-use of the tool. Please use the Contact Us facility for this purpose, noting that this will be received by RLAS’s technology provider the GeoData Institute at the University of Southampton.
